2022 BMW X3 Right Front Collision Repair
A right front impact scraped the bumper cover, headlamp and fender. Teardown found more damage behind the bumper cover: the reinforcement bar and two brackets.

Initial damage
Scrapes and dark paint transfer across the right side of the front bumper cover, from the grille surround down to the lower air intake and around the corner toward the wheel opening. The right headlight lens and the edge of the hood above it were also marked.

Teardown findings
With the front bumper cover removed, three more damaged parts were found behind it: the bumper reinforcement bar, the right headlamp bracket and the right fender bracket.
Repair process
The repair covered the front bumper cover, the right headlamp, the grille and the right front fender panel, along with the three parts found during teardown.
What owners should know
Scrapes on a bumper cover can hide damage underneath. On this X3, the reinforcement bar and the headlamp and fender brackets were damaged too, which only showed once the cover was removed.
